Hi All,
It looks like I am going to be at Puy du Foy a little earlier than planned (ie booked tickets), anyone got any suggestions of where to go within an hour or two of Puy du Flu to keep me entertained for a spare day?

Dunes de Pilat.

Google it.

Sorry that was a bit abrupt. It is well worth a visit, if you are fit then climb and walk along it, if less so then walk around the north edge to the beach. I was about 62 when we did it .

It is worth seeing, I agree, but it's about 4 hours from Puy de Fou. Nantes may be a better shout, there's loads to see and do there and it's only about an hour away. If you don't need a full day's entertainment, just somewhere attractive to mooch about for a bit, Clisson is even nearer.

Have a traditional French lunch, that should take up an enjoyable 3hrs. 😆

This is near Nantes but I can't remember the name of the place, it was closed in the February when I was there but should be open in the Summer.
Edit: it's the Chateau D'Oudon, Oudon, France. A medieval castle.

The Parc Oriental at maulevrier is a good visit and there is chateau Colbert right next door which does an excellent lunch, set menu in the week is not cheap but excellent. Then you can also have a walk around the beautiful grounds

Nice suggestion but a bit too far to go to then come back, so I think it will be Nantes and or Clisson.

If I have a traditional French lunch I won't be able to drive!

Looked for somewhere around Nantes but gave up and took a flier at Noirmoutier, a long way out but I thought it might be cooler on the coast (wrong).

I drove to Clisson and ended up in the middle of Hellfest 2025, so I got the hell out of there!
