Hi folks,

We have swivelling cab seats in our Citroen Relay conversion with the seatbelts build into the seats themselves. I've been trying to find some cheap-ish protective covers, but so far haven't been able to find anything that will accommodate the seatbelts (or the twin arm rests). I'm looking for something fairly tough, and ideally waterproof, to protect the seats from day to day use.

I've been down the road of buying generic Ducato/Relay/Boxer van seat covers and trying to modify them, but it hasn't worked out as well as I'd hoped, so I thought I'd see if anyone in this mine of information has found a ready made solution.

Ta.

they have to be specially made with velcro closing on the seatbelt side. we used to have a small company locally that did them but the owners divorced and I have no idea whether the business continued elsewhere

If you get some large van ones, you can unpick the seam where the seat-belt is and put velcro on it instead so you can 'wrap' it on the seat and 'stick' the seam sides back together, leaving gaps for the seatbelt top and armrest ... IF you can undo the base mount for the seatbelt so that the belt itself is loose at one end you could get away with just doing the velcro trick for the bit from the armrest down, with a 'slot' where the top of the seatbelt goes, threading the belt itself through and then securing it again ... the reason I say IF is that I've never closely examined seats like this and don't know if doing what I've suggested would be possible or safe to do.

I looked at lots of options for my seats, none of them cheap

In the end, I bit the bullet & had the seats re-covered in breathable vinyl by a local auto upholstery company

I could have got the cheap 'taxi' job for about £100 but spent £180 of my pension on the Bentley stiched, two tone ones in the photo

3 years on, they still look like new & all I do is wipe them over with a baby wipe a few times a year to keep them clean

Thanks @Minxy Girl - that's pretty much what I've tried to do, but the join keeps pulling open. I was going to have another go, but thought I'd check for other options first.

Look for lorry seat covers

Now *that* looks promising, thanks.
