Hello, I have an Autocruise Forte and the gas locker lock appears to have failed. The handle moves, but the door remains shut. Any help suggestions or ideas greatly appreciated please. If anyone has a picture of the inside of the door it might help me fishing for the catch.
Thanks in advance.
Tim

Not got experience of that type of lock but…
picture looks like it’s part closed. That could be jamming the lock. Would gentle closing pressure make everything align again? Maybe I’m just seeing the photo wrong

or

is that hinge sacrificial? Think I’d make sure I could source a new one before going that route though.
hope you get a proper answer soon

Good thing about a gas locker it should have a vent in the floor, you can always make that bigger if needed and hopefully get your hand in

I would remove the plastic cap from the hinge pin and using a rod, or even a nail, gently try to tap the rod out of the hinge.
I did that on a similar hab door hinge on an Adria and it reassembled it with no damage.

see my post from March 1st. Similar lock possibly. My problem is it sometimes fails to spring back but I can manually reset and slam door. Photo might help

Thanks for all the suggestions. i believe that there is a spring inside the latch/handle, but it has either broken or become detached in some way. The handle moves, but there is no resistance. I did try with a nail to drift the hinge pin out, but it didn’t move and I was a little nervous about trying it With too much force. I will endeavour to add some plus gas or gt85 to lube it before I try again. I’ll have a look for the vent, but if memory serves me correct the floor does not have a detachable vent coupled with the two gas bottles that reside inside. I’ll certainly have a crawl beneath the van to check that out though.

Can’t help with getting into it but it looks very similar to the type I have but not the same. One of mines got “broken”during my first hab check. The tech said he’d need to order a new one, which he did. In the meantime I opened it up by removing the 4 screws inside. There was a spindle inside that was held on by a star washer. The washer had popped off the spindle. I’m pretty sure it was forced off by him trying to open it when it was locked. I ordered some new washers and pushed one on and it worked fine. You’ll really need to open it up and find out what’s broken or missing. They are pretty simple mechanisms inside. To get more replies or suggestions it might be better asking the question in general chat t
