I'm a Progressing Newbie
Haven't stayed overnight here yet so a bit early rating the site...

But 3 days away from our night's stay there and they've written us a nice email to us.
Very friendly and with a few links - especially one with Packing List tips.

Bodes well for the actual visit.
Still no showers tho but that's a luxury some don't worry about ;) (err!! Not saying they smell. Just that like us their motorhome inc. a shower....)
More post stay info if I remember!

Postern Hill is a Camping inthe Forest site.
We're booked in there in a few weeks, good to hear that they are friendly, as you say, it bodes well. Enjoy your visit.

Stayed there a few times in the past. Savernack Forest?

Handy supermarket next door and a short walk into nice little town

Nearly. Savernake ;)

Postern Hill campsite is in a great location.
The Kennet & Avon canal is close by for Hiking, cycling.
And of course Savernake Forest is on hand. There are several “heritage” trees there and firm walking trails.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
Lord of EHU hookup.
Path to the Marlborough centre.

the pitches suffer from poor weather
The shower free toilet block only has one marked route to it. That’s a tree bark defined route. You can get to it from many other directions but Storm Dennis makes them less than ideal.
The path to Marlborough is up hill when you’re heading back to your MH
The price is for location more than facilities.

TL;DR
We’ll be back in Summer for the activies and great location. With bikes &/or walking boots.

I quite liked the site but my wife whose hearing is too good, found that lorries coming up the hill were too noisy for her liking, and we were as far from the road as we could get.

Keep your drive wheels on the hard drive surface otherwise they will have to tow you off with their little tractor otherwise a great site

We like camping in the Forrest campsites, have only used the New Forrest ones thus far, but if the weather is good, we dont even need a hook up for a weeks stay.
Site fees are reasonable, we dont need shower block,or kids playground etc, love the wild roaming animals, so on the strength of that we have just resigned from the CMC, fed up being ripped off with extortionate site fees.
We will be trying some other sites, maybe the one in the highlands.
Have fun.
