A recent post https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/urgent-question-re-authenticity.258216/#post-4916010

rang warning bells with me. The majority of members seem to think this is a scam. The company selling the motorhome even use photographs of a legitimate dealer with the inference these are their motorhomes for sale on their website.

I contacted an old associate connected to the trade today to see if he had heard of it and this is what he responded with…

’I suspect that this will be a scam……

There are some dealers who are plying the ‘second hand’ game with HMRC by registering the caravan / motorhome to them in Germany and then they bring it to the UK. They then sell the asset to the buyer without a VAT element – as they suggest it is second hand!……………….I always recommend that if you cannot touch it – or see pictures recorded by the vendor having previously used it – then walk away!!’

Clearly if this isn’t fully legal in every aspect then though you may have been duped and though not criminally liable, there will always be the possibility you could lose your vehicle and your cash as part of later investigations.

If ever there was a case of buyer beware, this is it.
