I don't think I've posted this before but I'm sure someone will tell me if I have! :giggle:

I have an issue with dangling legs when using the MH toilet and although I have tried a few solutions none were ideal, using a kiddie booster step worked okay but was a bit of a nuisance as it was always in the way either next to the loo or moved to into the shower area so last October I 'attacked' it with a hacksaw. :giggle:

I did it in stages and gradually removing some of the side and rear sections to make it fit closer to the toilet so it can be left in situ without being in the way and means I don't have to remember to put it next to the loo each time to avoid dangling legs!

The pipe insulation is to protect the tray and surrounding area from rubbing and also helps to keep it in place in use.

Before anyone says it, yes I know I need to make some more mats!

Many of my old motorcycle mates seem to end up with 'petite' women, presumably to make good pillion passengers, I wonder if the same applies to motorhome guys watching the payload? Of course smaller men are available as well.

I have just replied to a thread about duck boards. I made a duck board for the very reason outlined. My feet would not touch the floor. I have looked and cannot see any valid reason for my toilet being stuck up on a pedestal. It just doesn't make sense.
However, I made a bespoke shaped board from good timber with several layers of good varnish, stainless steel screws and 16 rubber buffer feet to spread the load. It has served us well for around five years and can be left in place when using shower.

Please spare me any indelicate explanations but I'm intrigued as to what is problematic about having one's legs dangling?

I think it's called Physics... to do with angle, pressure and thrust..
I blame the Germans for my problems.. Bet they used one of them tall German blokes when they were setting the pan height on my Burstner and not thinking of us short ass Brits....

Dont get Bogged down with toilet issues ;)

Seriously though they do reckon the modern toilet is too high, steps/podiums whatever in front are suggested to lift the knees up higher that produces a more "efficient" trajectroy for a clean exit. The ones on sale are just like what you have created.

Load of s**t I reckon but its true

have a laugh at this Minxy and think of Ice cream next time you erm !!!!

When I lived in a flat in an old building whilst working in Cologne the porcelain pan was moulded in such a way that it had a shelf halfway down the drop zone and above the water. I took me more than a year to pluck up the nerve to ask a colleague why it was so designed.

Stool sampler, meant for a hospital perhaps?

The Germans like to examine their output
So do the Dutch ... my late brother lived in the Netherlands for some years and had similar facilities in his homes. Very useful if the kids swallow your valuables.:Eeek:

and the lodges at Center Parcs had the same design when they first opened in the UK - very intriguing for my young kids at the time

That's a very colourful stool.

I used to use one of these, but it did get in the way, so I now have one of those little fold-flat plastic spotty ones, it fits behind the loo when not in use. The stool step I use at home is huge, I wouldn't even be able to get it in the shower room!

I was in surgery today and one of the toilets had such a shelf, I can only imagine it's there to place your specimen pot to collect a pee sample??!!

I didn't mention that it took me a year after my colleague moved in to ask her the purpose of the shelf and she didn't mention those reasons.
