Hi all bought a lpg adapter for gas-low refillable in Portugal but can,t get the nozzle to lock on if I hold it tight it fills very slowly.we are in Figueira da foz any one know where we could buy another one or a Lpg garage that has the fitting. PS, bought the fitting in Scotland. Cheers Sam and Viv.

They have changed in the last couple of years, they used to use the dish but now use the Spanish one, if it doesn’t work ask the garage or lpg place if they have one you can use. Our local one did in Oliveira do Hospital.

We have the chrome bullit type, we did ask the last garage but no luck. Cheers Sam and Viv (y)

If it doesn't lock on properly I would be very careful as gas liquid gas can give you a nasty cold burn.

Sorry can't be more help.

If you are on your way to the Algarve, at Bouleqiume (spelling), just off the N125, sells lpg and has all the adaptors, also sells them too.

I had a similar issue with a recently bought Eng/Portugal adapter in Portugal. It did lock on, filled the first few litres very quickly, and then took ages to fill the rest. It took so long I asked the girl at the kiosk to help, she brought over their own adapter, which looked just the same as mine but with a smaller central hole. It was no different. The girl said it was unusual, there was something wrong, but couldn't help further. I later filled up elsewhere successfully, though I can't remember where. So I'm not sure what the problem was. I guess that doesn't help, but does show there can be an issue.

This is the one you want.
Some pumps are very slow, depends how frequently they are used and how far the main tank is from the filling pump.

I've found you need to be very careful that the "gun" has locked on properly, or the pump simply won't run. Although they're supposed to be simple to use I have come across variants in different parts of Europe so if it doesn't work the first time I have a good look at the instructions, although sometimes even they can be a bit ambiguous.

If all else fails ask if they have anyone in the shop etc. who can help.

Sometimes, however, it's just the pump/gun itself that's faulty. Try somewhere else.

Hi all
tried another two places today --both tried their adapters as well --guns locked on but very slow, so gave up.The adapter seems to be ok same as Brewery-dave pic. Looks like we may come early,

Cheers Sam and Viv,

We had a similar issue filling up but in England. Went to one garage, connected up filled up £3 worth of gas then stopped. I knew it wasn't full but couldn't get any more gas in. A few miles later stopped at another garage and tried again. This time it filled up with no problems at all. Another £8.
Then in Spain last winter, had the same slow delivery before it cut off with no gas. It wasn't full. So can't offer any explanation. Hope you get it sorted.

Silly Q time, but are you sure your bottles are empty??
It seems that after trying so many it might be a problem after the fill point? BD might be on the right track?

Hi All
Would like thank everyone for their help and comments, will let the gas run down as low as poss,or run out especially with the stupid Gas-Low dial. ;)

Cheers Sam and Viv. (y)
