Not strictly true. We are currently in Olhao having just left Alportel and before that Tavira. Places are busy but there is space. All of the places we have paid between 8 and 12 euros a night

You have been v lucky couldn’t get on Tavera yesterday been coming to Portugal for 18 years and never seen it as busy as this with motorhomes

I agree there are a lot around, but its typical for this time of year. Its all the Northern liveaboards looking for sun and they will be gone soon. Bet they didn't expect it to be so cold here! All the little Aires are empty and the smaller sites. Its the bigger ones with all facilities that are full of long stay atm.

I’ll probably be down there around that time and most of the snowbirds will be gone by then, that’s been my experience anyway…

Interesting. Maybe the push to fine wildcampers is a major factor in filling up paid sites. Note before time imo.

Been in Portugal for around 3 weeks.

We got on the Tavira aire straight away. Cracking aire in my opinion.

Stayed at Albufeira, Silves, Lagos and other areas. Mostly off grinding with no issues at all. There are always places to stay.

We are currently in Alvor wilding. Touch wood the GNR have not bothered us but have passed by with a nod.

I think imo they have stopped a lot of wild(free) camping and not replaced it with enough paid aires

Just managed to get on route66 camping at Moncapacho if you have never been on this site it’s brill different to any other site and only €10
