Had one in Australia
G'day all.
Heading over in November and hiring (I think) a VW campervan for 2+ weeks.
Is there a online site that lists where I can park up legally overnight?
Thank you

We toured Portugal two years ago, shortly after they banned wild camping in most places, coastline, national parks, etc.

We were pointedly photographed by locals when overnighting in Coimbra; and in the Algarve were moved on (along with half a dozen other vans) by the GNR when parked up during the day, nevermind overnight.

Don't know if things have relaxed again now.

On the flip side, sites in Portugal out of season were remarkably cheap (even without an ACSI card) and some where superb (others less so).

Thanks for that. ACSI card?

It's a card that gives discounted fixed-rate site fees at participating camp sites across Europe outside of the high season.

For countries that discourage/ outlaw wild camping and that don't have a good network of cheap aires it can be invaluable. We're currently in Croatia and it takes the stress out of finding somewhere to overnight at a reasonable(ish) cost.
