Hi All, having previously used the tunnel the ferry is new territory to us, hubby is not too worried about it but I am!!!! So some helpful tips of what to expect for a very nervous sailor 😱😳 would be very much appreciated. 🙏

Never used it. Booked on 30th September at 1.30pm. We have a pet friendly cabin. Will let you know.

We’re on the Armorique to Roscoff and Pont Avent coming back. Sailing on Monday night so will have a good idea which we prefer for future trips, all being well of course

We have been on this crossing and found it very good. its also very easy to get away from Roscoff - well it was pre brexit!! Enjoy the crossing it really is the start of your holiday once you are on board

We took the overnight 10 nights ago. It was very windy but the crossing was fine - we slept ok. We had a pet friendly cabin which was good - I think Pont-Aven has only recently added them. Only downside was that she docks at 6.30am in Roscoff- French time meaning they wake you at 4.30 am UK time.
Check in was good - I noticed they checked a large number of Motorhomes, presumably for meat/dairy. They seemed hot on UK stickers! No problems at Roscoff, we were off the ship and through Customs quickly.
As an aside, Roscoff town is very nice and there’s a good cafe on the seafront which was open at 7.30 am. Good croissants & strong coffee woke me up for the onward journey.

If you have cabin you will be fine👍
On leaving go outside and watch departing Plymouth, beautiful lights, all part of your holiday
You will have alarm call to wake you in the morning
If concerned take sea sickness tablets they do work
Enjoy!

We have done the crossing many times. Usually pick up fish and chips from the chip shop in west hoe to eat in the queue, then straight to the cabin and get up when arrive in Roscoff!

We usually take an overnight ferry outbound so that we arrive in Roscoff early as we are usually heading down towards the Lot et Garonne to visit friends first. Return we usually get the afternoon sailing but for our return on Sunday we have booked a posh cabin on Pont Aven which is the morning departure so will be spending Saturday night in the port and walking into Roscoff for a last night meal in one of the restaurants. When we have an afternoon departure from Roscoff we like to stay overnight at Le Trologot in St Pol de Leon.
It is a very convenient service for us as we live 20 minutes max from the ferry in Plymouth.

Thanks everyone, great to know there’s lots of help out there. Even beginning to feel less stressed about the dreaded :giggle: So looking forward to to Monday night and another adventure, Happy Travels all.

Have used it quite a few times over the years, but then it is on my doorstep.
June - Plymouth to Santander.
August return Roscoff to Plymouth
If you have a cabin and have a travel kettle you'll need a EU / UK adapter.

Enjoy your trip 👍
