Hi
I am thinking of switching to Plusnet mobile from EE due to it allowing me to roam free In Europe. When I am in Europe is it possible to use free wifi calling on Plusnet. There seems to be differing opinions when I search the Internet on this subject.Has anybody on this forum managed to use wifi calling on Plusnet when abroad.

Dave

EE is the Plusnet carrier……do they offer Wi-Fi calling…..??

edit: Yes, they do. (y)

Before changing I would try and get an answer out of Plusnet about whether or not they are going to follow the rest and drop cheap roaming charges, even some of the companys that said they were not going to change have done.

It is probably better to look for a more specialised solution.

this might help..

I thought ee dont charge for roaming!
They do, since March 22, maybe you’re OK if you’re on an old plan. It’s a bit like 3, all new plans do but if you’re on an old plan like me you’re OK. O2 is the only one of the big 4 that hasn’t brought it in YET!

Been with Plusnet for a few years not had any problems use what's app & messenger a lot of wifi for calls as we have a daughter who lives in Thailand.

I gave up with Plusnet due to very bad reception in remoter areas. I always had to borrow my wife's phone to get a signal as she was on EE proper.
Turns out that Plusnet do not have access to all of EE's bandwidths so can be sketchy in some places.
I changed to EE and now get as good as my wife.
Your mileage may vary. 🤷‍♂️

Plusnet don't do WiFi calling (as in using your normal phone number etc., rather than Whatsapp etc. that they do support). I know EE allow it, but the Plusnet system doesn't. It's a pain, because I'd find it really useful at work where we have generally rubbish signals. There have been hopeful messages on Plusnet's forums that it's coming, or someone has had it working, but the general consensus is that it doesn't. I've never been succesful with a variety of phones (including Samsungs that we know work on other networks), neither has my son who is as geeky as you can get.

My mate always struggles in Europe with Plusnet only gets 3g, I have no trouble getting 4g everywhere but he does use an iPhone.

I’m out in France atm with virgin media. So far so good.
No limits yet and calling ok no extra charged

They just say the fair use policy as they did before. My unused data also rolled over no problem. Signal is good as well. Can’t believe how much 5g there is

I am with BT who use EE, currently on 6th week abroad and all use as normal with no charges. Also with BT for phone and Wi-Fi at home, all on a contract with increases only by amount of inflation.

But - I am regularly offered the ‘opportunity’ to upgrade this that or the other which I ignore. BT are not the cheapest but I never have service problems with anything they provide, also no hidden extras/charges/ whatever.

I'm with Plusnet for my home broadband (fibre to the cab) and for my and wife's mobiles. The mobiles are on monthly contracts, mine 15gb @ £8 per month and wife's 7gb @ £6 per month.
Currently we are in Germany and have both found slow data but lasr evening I had a poke about the settings and they are both better today. I've no idea what I did!
Obvious from that neither of us are big data users! However both phones are doing what we want now.
