Still getting started
With many sites not opening until next year and others packed out with caravans I was pleased to find a space quite easily at Loch Katrine this week. It's motorhomes only and is only offering hookup at the moment, but the boat up the Loch is running at the cafe is open.

We like to get the steamer up to the end of the Loch and cycle back, but, due to rock falls, the lochside path is closed at the northern end. You can still walk/ cycle from the carpark however. See https://www.lochkatrine.com

Cheers, that looks nice. Will keep it in mind.

The Lobster thanks for sharing, the steamer was on the tele recently,Paul Mertons Lochs program, its on the I player. We love all the shows he does, the views and history are amazing.
Remarkably the boat it was split into 3/4 pieces, after being built, and transported over land, and reassembled on the banks of the Loch.
Full tour of the wheelhouse with a wee lassie as captain, then on down to The Engine room to meet the engine room mechanic that has a passion for the ship.
Lovely to watch, its a must do for us one day.
Glad you found a place to stay on such a beautiful spot. (y)

Remember watching that edition of the programme, because we've been on the Sir Walter Scott on Lake Katrine.

We stayed less than a mile-and-a-half along the road at Tigh Mor, the Holiday Property Bond (HPB) resort. We were touring in the van, but because we've an interest in the Bond, we decided to have a few days in an apartment there. (y)

We have stayed at Tigh Mor too and cycled to Loch Katrine, took the boat to the far side and then cycled back to Tigh Mor. Lovely place to stay and lovely area in the Trossachs

Love this area will never forget being on the boat and seeing Highlanders (cows not people) having a paddle and a swim in the loch. Thanks for the memory
