As the title suggests are there any owners of this van on the forum who could give me the pros and cons of owning one. Many thanks in advance.
Norman.

Good morning from Devon.
I have a 2016 Pilote G701GJ and its a first class van very well built.
Engine is a 150bhp.

Now the down side of this van, the kitchen table is far to big.

Mike.

We bought a G600l in January, a change from a Chausson 08 with a French bed.
We really like the extra space and layout, even on a shorter van. The lounge, kitchen and bathroom are all very practical and versatile spaces. We’ve had 8 round the table for drinks on a wet evening. The bed is a little more fiddly, climbing into it and making it need a tad more thought but it’s very comfortable and leaves the lounge available when set up.
We find the storage space fine but needs a little planning, we keep our cadac bbq in different parts. I would have liked a garage to keep the ebikes more secure but that would have needed a bigger van. It’s a good van to live in; lighting, control technology, decor and fabrics are practical and flexible. The A class driving position is well placed with everything to hand. I like the auto-box but that’s personal taste. At the moment we’re averaging upper 20s mpg. The 6 metre length means it’s easy to drive and park.
Problems? I don’t think we’ve come across anything of note. The build quality seems sound though the Remis sunroof was stiff-I think a common fault- happy with everything else.

We had a Pilote P716 with an electric bed. What a disaster. Bought it new but we got rid of it after the bed refused to lower when we were away. It had always been troublesome but I had always managed to get it to lower. Traded it in as it was with front bed jammed in the roof. The following year they changed the bed design and the later ones have a handle so that at least you can lower it manually.

One of our problems was the Dealer ( SMC ) They insisted there was nothing wrong with it and always insisted that the MH should be on a completely flat surface for the bed to operate properly. They also insisted that it needed a full habitation and water ingress check every year at something like £250 when all Pilote wanted was a water ingress check which I got done at another Dealer for £90.

Few other faults when we got it but generally not that bad. We went to the factory and had the guided tour round the factory. Nice to see how they put them together but photography was strictly banned.

We have the P740GJ and we find the table to big as well.

Many thanks for your replies to date, I have always found the permanent table in my present van a little awkward at times so hopefully I will get accustomed to the new one also, compromise is the name of the game (y)

Had a Pilote G690. Really nice van. It did have a few issues but overall not bad at all. Traded it for a van with Auto box due to back problems
