Pigtail washer

I've just removed my gas pigtail, in order to buy a replacement tomorrow. There is a fibre washer at the regulator connection. Is this usual?

Washers at all joints except the threaded connector into the bottle.

When I saw the title I felt jealous that you wanted to wash your pigtail

Normally a rubber type washer not fibre ?
Is it possibly a green one

I've just bought one from our local caravan dealer in Louth. It came with a washer fitted.

Can't recommend them enough and they give a discount to Camping and Caravan Club members.
