Back home early, as the weather beat us I'm afraid. We arrived at the THS in Bakewell yesterday afternoon, to rain, a flooded Road, and travellers racing Mercs, BMWs and pick up trucks using the road (and the flood) to create their very own water features, over and over again. They're parked up in the agricultural market behind the town, with the THS site just up the road.

We would have stuck it out, but the flood level suddenly rose again, and we felt it safer to decamp and overnight on the road in Bakewell itself.

The further south we drove today, the sunnier it got, and it's been lovely to clean the van in the sunshine!

Just a few snaps from a lovely meet.

The town fete was full of fun...

We met up with Carol and Ed in Whitby and had delicious haddock and chips, after the obligatory climb up to the Abbey.

We then took the decision to move south to Derbyshire and better weather.......

We were sitting in the van, not sure who the idiots in the Pacamacs were!

Despite the weather we, as usual, had a blast!

It was Debs! The THS field was lower than the river on the opposite side of the road. When Cliff went to the Marshalls van to get our membership card back he was wading through water! Luckily they had parked us on firmer ground in the next field which was a little higher, but we still had to drive through the flood to get out.

We ended up parking in a side road in Bakewell town. That was peaceful until the early hours when the travellers set up their race meet again..... What a strange lot they are!

Hope you're holding up OK Debs, try to look after yourself, whilst sorting everything else out.
