Im a newbie
photobucket are no longer allowing us to post images via an image code on forums. They now require a fee of $39.99 a month.

So expect to see images dissapear soon to be replaced with a box saying temporarily disabled.

As my account hardly works due to the advertising bombardments on the site they can booger right off.
 
Been with Photobucket for many years & me thinks I'll be moving on too.
 
I know it has a lot of drawbacks and invades-your life but Google photos does work bloody well, it's amazing what it can do but on the other hand it knows what you are going to do before you do :(

If you are fully into google every photo you take is automatically on all your devices, tells you where and when it was took and all the photo settings and a myriad of other stuff , but the best thing I have found with it is sending photos to someone else , where you used to have to send a picture message costing upto 50p a time, and messing about uploading and stuff , with google you take a photo and with a couple of clicks it will be in someone else's inbox for free almost immeadiatly.
 
My image code on Photobucket works fine.

It may be but not for long... I moderate on a Toyota Forum and all members who use Photobucket have had thier images replaced with a message asking them to visit a page. When they do there is a request to pay or the images will not reappear.

It's spreading among forums right now.

Just a heads up so folk know what is happening.
 
I've got a feeling this is down to a bit of malware somewhere in the works, as I've just searched through the Photobucket T&Cs & can't find anything relating to having to pay if you've 2GB of storage or less.
 
Same here seems to work ok.

Do you have a free account Charlie? I have a Plus 20 which is their basic paid for account I believe.
 
Maybe thats reason, reducing the benefits on the free accounts.
I don't have much on mine so will probably close it when the next bi-yearly payment comes up in 2019

It's wrecked Auto Sleepers Owners Forum !

This screenshot shows what I was confronted with on my iPad recently and as you can see, the site is barely useable in its current state. A couple of members have posted workarounds, but key information is covered by the Photobucket images :mad::mad:

As Kingham has said it's a nightmare on ASOF, I've used it for years and have a few I would like to keep but looks like will be moving. The shame is I already pay for iCloud but afaik you cannot get the hosting links.
 
PB are effectively holding us to randsome. I have fifteen years of photos and now they are useless. I have over the years been adopted as a sort of Detailing advisor on many forums and posted many pictures to aid trying to help and I moderate on the Rav4 drivers club forum which has also been wrecked by the decision taken by PB.. Hundreds of images I've posted in doing the above have been deleted.

I wonder how long the other hosting sites will do the same

I have the same problem on the AS forum and cant decipher any solutions to rid myself of this problem as the screen gets covered. I don't even use Photobucket! Any advice please??
 
If you want to access the ASOF Forum try the mobile view instead of the classic view

I've just tried that and it worked fine. Hopefully Ed will be able to sort something out when he gets back.

@sylvester1954 I don't use Photobucket either and other than Roli's solution above, unfortunately I've got no answers.

I find Google Photos totally useless. Since they integrated Picasa into it my gallery is now only viewable it you are logged into Google and have given other users permission. That is the reason the link to my gallery in my signature no longer works.
Can't just transfer the images to Flicker have reupload them not had time to do it.
 
Any members of ASOF that haven't been back since the PBucket issue, admin have pretty much sorted the problem and it's close to business as normal. @sylvester1954 @ymfb
