Phantom Sentinel wireless cycle alarm knowledge

The above is described on the website as a loop to put around your bikes on the rack and if they get jolted, as in an attempt to steal them, the van alarm sounds.

Ive learned today it is no longer produced but has been replaced by a wireless credit card size thing that you pop into the panniers or a pouch.

Has anyone any personal knowledge or experience of the latter and how effective it is.
