I am thinking of fitting achip to my peugeot 2.2 05 boxer engined Autocruise. I have seen one on called Pro bitz on ebay at around £80, wondered if anyone has fitted one of these and are they any good.
If anyone has a used one for sale I would be interested.

The cheaper ones are very often nothing more than a couple of resistors in a posh box..
It really is a case of getting what you pay for I am afraid .. Be careful !

DITTO DITTO do not buy them . If you really want more go get a reprogramme but I wish I hadn't got one done on my Transit as it increased the fuel consumption from 28-9 to 24-5 at the same speeds as before.

Several years ago I had one fitted to a Nissan Terrano that I towed with, it was not a cheap one and it transformed the motor, so much more power, could not say if it helped the MPG.

i bought one of those from pro bitz,, i got nothing more than black smoke,,i couldn't tell any difference in power or mpg, i sent it back & got a refund. i got one from blue spark on ebay and it does seem to have increased the mpg but still get the black smoke when changing gear.... mine is a 3.0 fiat.

Thanks for the info. I think I will give that a miss.

i had my peugeot boxer 2005 2.2 re mapped, got more power and better fuel consumption.
recomended

Hi Eric Where do you get remapping done And what does it cost.

I only said to wife as we were driving back from London on Monday the two best things I've done to my 2.4 Transit were having it remapped and fitting air assist suspension(did it myself). The remap gives me more torque when overtaking and still does about the same mpg.The air suspension has helped with the roll instability when overtaking artics etc on the motorway.I did look at the fit yourself tuning box's but decided that a remap was the best route. The guy who did it who came highly recommended on the Transit website asked me what I wanted!I told him not interested in going any faster but just wanted more pulling power around the 50 to 60 mark when overtaking.and that's what I got!!

i had the remap done at a local garage at a cost of £250.00
