With regards to having a eu pet passport what address do people put in them. There home UK address. Or a fictous one in France ect. Does it matter?

Much less stressful countries than France to try get a PP. Some people detour into Belgium to a cooperative vet. Search on here for EU pet passports as I can't remember the actual thread title but don't bother with France...

I think member maz produced/ manages a list of EU vets who are still happy to oblige

Ours has home address but it's Basque. France I think insist on a French address but you can put a camp site in .

Go to Belgium or Germany and they don't ask for an address.
In fact anywhere in the EU is better for a PP then France

We got ours in Benicassim in Spain and used the campsite address. :)

Getting one in France is virtually impossible and nothing to do with a French address but the electronic dog register they have. There are apparently still a few French vets who will issue a passport to a visitor but we had no luck and went to Spain instead.

So one with a UK address would be void and useless?

What happens if you change address do you place a sticker over the old address with a new french one?

Thanks appreciated 👍

2 of our dogs have Portuguese PPs, the other a Spanish one, all have our UK address on them and we've had no problems using them.

We got ours in Belgium and the vet just pointed out the address section for me to fill out before we left. UK address on every PP we’ve ever had.
Belgian, Cypriot and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Got one in Portugal this year and was allowed back in to England (went out on AHC), have yet to try leaving again. Has my UK address on.

For crossing borders it really doesn't matter what address is listed in the Pet Passport. There is no requirement in law for an EU address or residency.

As others have said, France is the trickiest country in which to obtain a PP as vets generally (but not always) insist on I-cad registration even though it has no relevance to non-resident dogs. If it has to be France let me know and I will PM you my list of French vets that have issued PPs to Brits.
