Who is the crossing with

There's a large lay-by on the A77 between Stranraer and the ferry terminals where we parked for a few hours before our late night crossing. I'm sure you would be fine staying overnight, particularly as you would be leaving early. Perhaps a little noisy.

You could probably also park at the ferry terminal, it appeared that it would be OK to do that at the P&O terminal.

This is why i asked who hes sailing with, can also park at Stenna but they charge

I'm up there often, and as mentioned above there is a good sized lay by on the road from cairnryan to Stranraer... you will pass a campsite ( which also has space for a few vans ) and about half a mile past that is the entrance to the lay by... there is a small cafe on the left side you can't miss it.. this time of year it could be busy , but I've never not got parked... its about 10 min from there to cairnryan.. and the p&o terminal is the first one as you enter the village.... the Stena terminal is a little further on as you leave ....
again you can't get lost ..
andy.
p&0 have a small car park just past their terminal building which I've used for a few hrs not overnight... its small and often busy ...

We are going with stenna line

You can park there all you have to do is pay the charge, not sure how much it is a fiver rings a bell. Or you could park at the P&O terminal then drive the mile or two to stenna in the morning.

You can also park up on the front in Stranraer for the night.

What time is your ferry in the morning

Check the stenna website regarding parking but you can just drive into the P&0 one without paying, just park in the far corner then its a 5 min drive in the morning. We have parked here before with no issues and you'll see other vans here more than likely.

the old Cairnryan Hotel now closed has a large car park with open access, right at one of the terminals, can't remember which, but they are only 5 mins apart.

Drove past there a few hours ago ,am fairly sure it now has height barriers, perhaps regulator passers by could confirm
this?
