If you’re planning to circumnavigate Paris on the ring round and satnav has plans to use the above roads, make alternative plans.
I updated our satnav the day before departing the UK but this road closure hadn’t registered.
Our route from Issoire to Le Touquet routed us via Paris as the quickest with cheapest tolls. We got to within eye contact with the N1 / A1 and saw the sign saying closed. No diversion in place.
We spent 2 hours sat in traffic in Saint Denis which wasn’t the best of scenes which was to cover 1 mile before getting onto the A86.
I’m guessing they’ve closed the motorway due to building a new stadium next to it.
Consecutive traffic lights don’t work in conjunction of one another in France it seems and was like the scene from the Italian Job traffic chaos.
By the time we arrived at Le Touquet, one aire was full and the other had a horse event taking place so was closed.
A great day was had yesterday.
