I think £40 quid + a night is stretching it a bit no matter how nice the place.

Leccy yes.. pub, up the road. Three actually..
20/25 min walk to town.

I guess it depends on what you want, Oxon Hall is nice enough but a bus ride into town and might be a taxi back when the buses stop running, the showground has electric but not fully serviced (actually some of the pitch-up ones might be) no pub or restaurant on site but a huge choice in town which is a mile ish walk or a short taxi ride.

We stay at Oxon Hall a lot as a base to enjoy the very many joys of Shrewsbury, very nice site and worth the money .
Morris Leisure also do a CMC discount and have a loyalty card malarkey , get your card stamped up for a free night at any of their sites and they often do a three for two nights promotion .
I believe that the sites days maybe numbered as they are slap bang in the middle of a proposed expansion of the Shrewsbury ring road , the plans are available on line.
If you want eye watering prices try the other side of town at Love 2 Stay !

Around £40 a night is pretty much par for the course on a CAMC site these days. That's why I now avoid them.

Booked confirmed Plassey Holiday Park for next week.
Been before it's a lovely site with great bar and restaurant on site. Among other stuff.
£32 p/n

Oxon hall the only site that didnt honour our covid booking. So its a no from me.

Plassey is decent. Indoor pool...cafe bar..restaurant (pub style) golf course and a few oldie worldwide little shops...
Decent pitches and near to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, at Llangollen about a 10 -15 min drive.
Worth a visit

We did a week there last year, it's a great site for park and ride into Shrewsbury, chippy, co-op and Chinese just up the road.

Facilities are excellent. Much more than Oxon for less.

In our view yes it is excellent.
Been once before and was well pleased.
Being new to the game we want to try other places but get drawn back to the good ones we have been on.
If you were to go i feel sure you would love it.
And as Tombola says.

The showground is good and handy for the town to be fair.

The Plassey is nice but that's not cheap, or didn't used to be.

Fully serviced pitches always cost more, often a lot more.
