Most of the interior lights in our van have been converted from halogen to led. The pair over the van entrance don’t work, though. I have removed the rings and glasses to discover no bulbs inside. Might there be an led solution to this omission?

I’d suggest fitting led versions, as so touching them doesn’t matter, but you may have to swap which way they are plugged in.

Thanks guys. Still a bit confused as the centre of the socket doesn’t look much like a socket to me…..

What you are looking at is the rivet that holds the reflector in, the bulb plugs in the slot in the side. If you look in the slot and there is no socket it is probably on a flying lead behind the reflector.

Search G4 LED on ebay loads of options.

Ah! That would make sense. I hope an led will do the job. Not seen one like that before. Glad I didn’t try to plug anything into the rivet! 😂

Two pins on the bulb go in the two holes I’ve marked on your pic below

If you look in the bit Landry marked there are 2 small holes the prong of the lamp just push into them

it may be worth just getting a cheap g4 from a car accessory shop to see him much room you have behind the glass then you have an idea of led sizes

There are plenty of G4 LEcapsul bulbs now that are a direct replacement for the halogens.

Do the light fittings just pull out or do you have to prise them out? I've got a couple missing in the wc.

There is a glass disc in a metal frame which you can lever easily off the body of the light fitting. It has a rubber washer on top. You can see the space between the disc and the body in the picture below.
