A good friend of mine was at a dealership conducting an LPG training course for some of their staff, another fitter asked him to look at a problem with a bulkhead mounted regulator that he was about to run a gas test on .
It had frozen up completely after turning the refillable LPG bottle on .
As the system had not been functioning it’s pretty much immediately obvious that liquid state LPG was in the regulator from an overfilled bottle.
Owner was informed that not only was his bottle overfilled but also 12 years old so out of date .
Response from owner was that they didn’t know what they were talking about and he had a Calor bottle they could use to test with instead.
The owner then proceeded to put the overfilled bottle in his Motorhome garage laid on its side and stated that he would continue using the out of date bottle as it had nothing to do with them .
