Hi there,

I am a fairly recent Motorhome owner (early 00’s Autotrail) and have been repairing water ingress damage to the overcab bed walls. During which time I removed approximately one third of the metal brackets at the bed sides (in intermittent sections) and a soft section to about half of the timber side wall support on one side and worked on the platform.

Plan was to strip out and replace then re-bed awning rails and acrypol+ the roof.

I am now reading that the bed should have been supported beneath and I’m concerned that I have caused some distortion in the overcab by working off the bed platform with only two thirds of it supported.

My question is if anyone had made a similar newbie error (no supports) during refurb. What issues or problems resulted from it?

Thanks
K

I ask because I notice some ripples on the alu roof since.

I do suspect though that there is a greater chance that flex of lounge to bathroom wall caused this when I leaned out the window a few screws popped out.
