Like all the best trips, we have absolutely nothing set in stone and it is VERY early days..
Will be adding to the list as and when over the next few months

Our first port of call will not be too far away to say the least.

Maureens niece is getting wed in Bury St Edmunds and we will be going there..
As soon as the service is over we are gonna be coming back home, dropping the car off and taking the MH to the reception in Ely
There is a small camp site about 10 minutes walk from the venue so we are gonna go there first.

As it is a bit of a family reunion we could end up staying there a few days, but no idea !

From Ely we will be travelling north.. Might pop in to Hartlepool to see if there has been any new exhibits at the museum.. Had a really good time there two years ago and there is a nice handy bit of empty land right next to the place which is often used by motorhomes ( so a couple of nights wilding will pay for the entry to the museum ;) )

From there the next stop ( so far ) will be Beamish.. Big thanks to Puddleduck with help and advice on this one (y)

After that, I really want to see the Falkirk Wheel

From there.. well no idea apart from once again heading north.. We do not want to up any higher than about level with Loch Ness So Inverness will proly be as far north as we will go ( again, at the moment !! )

From there we will certainly be travelling across Scotland as we want to visit Cambeltown and the surrounding area.. The birthplace of a good friend .. and a place that seems to have quite a lot going for it one way or other..

We will then start south.. Taking in some of the lake district, and probably end up giving Shell island another go ( this time making a very careful note of how much we get charged  )

After that.. dunno........ But we are booked in to the Lincoln show so we will def be there at some point !!

Any suggestions you would add ?

I dont know if you have been watching Timothy West and Prunella Scales in their canal journeys in the UK and Europe. They used the Falkirk Wheel, it looks like a fantastic piece of engineering. They then went on to visit The Kelpies, two huge monuments to the canal working horses. I would give those a visit while you are up there.(y) See link....

If you reach Inverness , on return travel down Loch Ness to Fort William ,you can wild in any of the laybyes beside the loch , thru the great glen either to Oban or Inverary . From either of those two you can then carry on down to Campbeltown , you will the Islay ferry at Kennacraig ,worth a visit for a day or two . Hope this has been a help , have a great time .
