I'm a newbie
Hi everybody, just asking if anyone knows if the Osprey 2 Mini from EE is actually locked to EE.
Paying £15 / Mth for 5 Gig of data which seems a lot to me , any ideas?
Cheers Steve.

i have just 'bought' a Netgear M2 which is locked to EE for 6 months. i will cancel the pay monthly contract after 14 days (checked with them beforehand) and use with a sim i already have.

its a lot of money and only time will tell if it provides a significantly improved reception signal. as i have an unlimited data contract with another provider, my plan is to investigate whether my current monthly broadband landline can be done away with - even if only for a few months, as i am out of contract, when i get it unlocked.

second hand M2's are going for around £200 on ebay if they are unlocked ..... so if it doesnt work out i might get some money back ??

Google unlock Osprey 2 mini

Loads of information on how to

I did it a while ago on an EE phone, took about 30 seconds

It's worth phoning them up to 'pretend' you want to cancel. They will ask for a reason and just tell them you are looking for much more data. They often have add-ons that they are allowed to give.

That's what I did before I went away to Europe for a while in the van and the guy found 3 add-ons for me. Went from 30GB per month to 96.

Worth a shot and if they don't give you anything you can cancel and look elsewhere.
