Greetings from France.

40 years driving and over two million miles driven and never an accident (apart from being rammed up the back when stationary fairly regularly).

Then stupidly knowing that turning left out of our gate is very difficult I decided to chance it. See picture/result of my impatience.

I am annoyed with myself. There was no excuse for such an error.

I can't seem to find anybody to repair it here in France. Does anybody a business that could repair the plastic panel in the UK or do I need to buy a new one?

It is a 2018 Chausson 628eb Special Edition (Ford).

Von Paulus the ashamed.............

I had similar damage repaired by Spitfire Garage in Southampton.
They plastic welded it and it was as good as new.
Hope you can find somewhere.👍

Ouch .have you tried boat buider? might be surprised at how little damage after you very gently T cut the brown bits. have you tried contacting Chauson direct regarding new panel, they usuallymonly supply through dealers biut yhere might be one reasonably near to you.
Good luck.

I have just emailed them. If anybody else has any suggestions please post them here.

Thank you very much.

Looks repairable, most of the brown will just polish off and see what you are left with. As for the corner trim it should be able to be plastic welded, repaired and repainted.

As much as its a bummer for you and its fresh in your mind, my mum always takes the attitude that mistakes will happen so long as theres no injuries or fatalities you can get it fixed and you'll learn from it.

I feel for you! Nothing worse than having nobody to blame but yourself.
I usually blame the wife.
Looks like it should be quite easy to get that bumper plastic section off and then get a plastic weld done. Motorcycle repair shop might be able to point you in the right direction for a specialist in plastic repairs.

I agree it's only plastic.expensive plastic but all the same.as for you pride well repairing that may take a little longer. You can always hide it with white sticky back plastic until you can get it fixed. Sorry for your pain.

Drill a little hole at the end of each crack to stop it getting worse until it’s fixed, a bit of tape over the broken bits wouldn’t hurt either.

That is fixable, have seen much worse
As an old Uncle used to tell me "The man that never made a mistake never made anything" don't beat yourself up over it, easy to do.

Excellent job. Glad you didn't ask me for a sticker to cover it.
Funnily enough, Wilf, I did! I asked you about some you were talking about on here and if you could make mirror images so I could cover the offside damage with a mirror on the nearside. Given I dunted the nearside soon after I just bit the bullet and fixed them properly!
Anyway, standby for for the bonnet graphics when I get me finger oot!:whistle2::RollEyes::giggle: I took some other photos of it but on what, eh!................

I have been off air for a few weeks ill but can I thank everybody very much for the above messages. Sorry for the slow response to everybodies good wishes which are much appreciated.

Of course I should have mentioned that the sun wass in my eyes and I was blinded. Only a superman could have avoided that gate post! And if you believe me then I have some shares in a gold mine for sale...............

Thank you all. I shall report progress.
Paul
