Is it just me, or does everybody only get 1 minute to edit their posts.

With my poor spelling, I often need a bit longer than that, to read what I have posted (for the second or third time) and was wondering is it some sort of setting that I have overlooked, or maybe an issue related to the browser that I am using.

Just curious.

Just investigated further.

It seems only to be happening in the 'Social Groups' forum, where, on conclusion, if I try to 'edit', then I get an error; 'Ooops' and 'The One Minute Time Limit for editing is expired'.

Returning to the post later, the option to edit is not even offered.

Perhaps this is the way that this particular forum is meant to work ?

C'est la vie.

I'll just have to make sure that there are no errors in any initial post in that forum.

:unsure::rolleyes:

Yes, the social groups have, for some reason a more restricted edition time than a normal thread, which has more than that, maybe an hour or so as Two on Tour said.
That's good for everyone but specially for people like me, being not native to English I find useful to review what I wrote and correct some possible mistakes🫢

There used to be a preview button I think.

I wonder if it has been replaced by the circled icon?

clicking it produces this...

Could this be the Review button?

I don't think the preview option is available in the Social forums, but , I will check it out, when I next have sommat worth posting in the Guitar players slot.

May I suggest;

If Spelling is your chief concern, compose your replies in a Word Processor, use the Spelling and Grammar Checker, then Copy and Paste into the Fun dialogue box.

Of course this only works if you're working on a computer.

It also has the advantage that if you are writing an essay you can save as you work.

Happens on PM's (conversations) as well.

That is indeed exactly what I do, but inevitably when I copy and paste, I then read t the post through just one more time, and find that I have omitted sommat out that I should have included, or included sommat that I should perhaps have omitted.

That is where all the errors come from, and not being able to correct them is frustrating, but unimportant in the greater scheme of things.

Not only are we Motorhomers, we are human!

And, does it matter?

Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

And in case you are the one;

According to a researcher (sic) at Cambridge University, it doesn't matter in what order the letters in a word are, the only important thing is that the first and last letter be at the right place. The rest can be a total mess and you can still read it without problem. This is because the human mind does not read every letter by itself but the word as a whole.

I like some editing time. Not only to proof read but I invariably add some extra info!
