What happened to just get up and go. Seems every European country has a different system. Some can be online and others purchase at borders. We are 5500 kg. Any simple way of sorting this for our route?

It could be quite useful to create a chart of each countries requirements. Perhaps someone will come up with a site that already does this.

For info only, try the www.Green-Zone.eu website - but I wouldn’t buy any vignettes etc there, like many sites they charge a hefty premium.

I can help you with Slovenia. You need a Darsgo unit for over 3500kg for motorway use. Mine cost me €10 for home delivery, you top up online.

As we are already on the road it would work better for us to be able to pay at the border.

I think many countries that require electronic payments allow you create an account and to pick up the required equipment at or near their borders. Of course it’s best to check first if this is possible.

Never had a problem getting a box more trying to get my money back! Especially Slovenia, did take time at some points of entry as the main problem was language and the V 5 not having emissions and just generally their understanding of it. For Albania etc its insurance that can be the issue .
