Please help me understand. Currently in Spain. Have noticed several people pushing dogs in prams, carrying them in bags or in their arms. At home most dogs walk. Why is it different here? Am I missing something?

Maybe they are older dogs or have arthritis. A friend of ours has an old Yorkie and uses a baby stroller to take him to the park where he can have some gentle exercise and a good sniff. 😉

I've seen the same frequently in France. Seems a strange thing to do. I've never seen it at all in the U.K..

We have both a stroller and bags, all bought on Amazon so they must sell well. Our older dog had a kneecap operation and can't walk far and now our younger dog has had a similar operation
We like to walk some distance so it's the obvious way to go.

Wendy is 15, and has Cushings disease. With a pushchair, she gets out-and-about with us!(y)

Our dog is 11 years old. She has mild arthritis in one of her front paws. We love to go for walks but sometimes she gets tired along the way. Although she only weighs 8kg, she's a lump to carry so we have a buggy for her. It's also great for when the ground is too hot for her to walk on. She can sit in her buggy with a parasol to keep the sun off her. It means we can all enjoy a full day out together :)

Ditto, especially in Spain when it's hot!

Hove you tried YuMove, our 8 year old Beagle has mild arthritis which it has done wonders for her mobility. One pill a day after a few weeks of two a day.

Ours is 11 and we have been using YuMove within a month he seems to have turned back into a puppy!!
Racing around playing with other dogs its brilliant!!(y)

Our Lakeland is 13 now and cant walk long distances anymore. Had pins to fix a dislocating knee recently. We push him in a buggy so we can still get out. Amazing the funny looks and snide mutterings we get.
Just in the process of buying a buggy that can also attach to your bike ready for summer in France.

Can anyone explain what a stroller is please?

My 14 year old golden retriever has just started a new treatment today for her arthritis, called Librela. Its apparently only been out since 2021 and has had some very encouraging results. I’ll keep you posted.

My dog had this a week ago and it got rid of a new limp on her bad leg. Our French vet has offered this on a monthly basis if she needs it more regularly in the future. It doesn't have any adverse effects that previous treatments have, which is great news! :)

There was a woman near us who took her elderly dog around in a pram when she walked her other 2 dogs.

Just in case it might help someone. We used to have a big Airedale cross that developed problems with his back legs. An ex client of mine who had started selling Forever Freedom products strongly recommended their Aloe Vera orange flavoured drink. We bought some, mainly in past gratitude, and it worked wonders! He was on it for the rest of his days. I've recommended it to others, the vast majority with the same results. I never tried it, didn't like the taste, but the dog didn't seem to object to it poured over his meal.

Just wish I could find one big enough for our newfoundland, we do everything else for her, might as well push her majesty around to.
Used to date a girl back in the day, who was a kennel maid at a breeders, Newfoundland, German Alsatians and King Charles Spaniels.

Had many a Newfy and many fond memories of gob, slobber, black hairs and daft moments with them all. Remember one year, taking Huggy Bear to the Newfoundland water trails, now that was a day out, hundreds of Newfys in every direction.
