Just returned from a short local trip, thankfully it was only around 30 miles away.
Checked all my levels, topped up the windscreen wash, etc and had set off calling in at a super market half way. On starting back up I was faced with a check oil level alert - unusual !!
On getting under the van, there it was, oil dripping all over the place. On tracing, the source appeared to be from where the dipstick pipe entered the sump. A closer look and there it was, the pipe had obviously completely pulled out when I had removed the dipstick. It appears to be held in with a friction fit via a single O ring. Refitted it and clicked it home, no more oil drips when I restarted but what a poor design and I’ll have to see how best to secure it in place.
This was on a 2016 Peugeot Boxer base.
I’m just glad it was not the 3 hour drive we had intended to do.
