Always makes me feel sad when a rich person is in trouble, Oh I suppose they may not be rich now.

Oooh that looks expensive!!

It's a shame though, I wouldn't want one but I do think they look nice (when on proper ground of course!)

The only section without safety railing installed.....

Very strange.

It's RWD what kind of speed must it have been at for that length of vehicle to clear the edge of the canal ?

that has got to be the most amateur / inept recovery attempt I’ve ever seen , what were they thinking as they totally destroyed the RV bringing it OUT of the water ?

When I was duty fitter for the local bus company my foreman sent me out in the Fiesta van to drive a Volvo B10 coach back onto the road after slipping into a ditch. When I got there it wasn’t quite as we were told.
The coach was in the car park of a factory after dropping workers off. The driver tried to turn round and miss judged the distance to a dike.
The front wheels were off the floor and the engine was resting on the kerb. It took more than a Fiesta van to put that back on the road.

If you search on YouTube for 'rv canal', you will find a video of it being recovered. ( I won't link it as it's a bit sweary) It dates back to 2016.
Thought I`d seen it before. (y) Most of the damage would have been done to the underside when it went in. The recovery guys didn't help though. I`m guessing it was a total (insurance) Loss?. The engine likely "hydraulic`d" for one.

I`ve taken to watching "Truckin Hell" just recent. Some of the things some drivers get up to. Makes me shake my head.

Maybe he thought it would float.

We were lucky with the coach. The only damage were marks on the underside of the engine and both side skirts were creased. Once it was winched forwards it brought the front wheels back onto the floor.
Some of the dykes in Lincolnshire are very deep and tidal. In this case it was an easy recovery compared to some I have seen.

Working in the forestry in NZ, I drove a "Log Skidder", dragging the 12 metre logs out of the forest to an area where the Logging Trucks would pick them up.
Things must have been going well because the Company had purchased a new Skidder, which the boss drove, jealously guarding it from the likes of me!

The terrain was all valleys and ridges.
He'd left the new toy back along a bit, and told a one of the other machinery drivers to fetch it.

Off trudged the young bloke, he returned 10 mins or so later "It won't start!"
Boss goes mad, "What do you mean it won't start? It's only got 45hours on the clock! It's bloody brand new!!"

"It won't start!!!"

Boss said to me "better come with us just in case we have to tow the bloody thing to the road.
Off we go, when we gets there, the new toy is sitting upside down on it's safety cage.

"WHF!!!" said the boss "I thought you said it wont start?"

"It won't bloody start now!!!" said the young bloke!
