From French Wikipedia, apparently he founded the Campeole campsite group as well, and it says he's an ex racing driver. I think Jim is correct in him being to busy to die. His immediate family seem busy as well

Mayor of <Broken link removed> for twenty-four years, he is currently mayor of <Broken link removed>, re-elected to this post in the second round in 2014 in a quadrangular. A former racing driver, he was a member of parliament for <Broken link removed> from 1993 to 1997 and chairman of the <Broken link removed>Tourism Committee. He was general councillor of <Broken link removed> Township for twelve years.

President of the <Broken link removed> specializing in tourism, he is also the founder of the Campéole group, which today includes eighty campsites in mainland France, Corsica, Spain and Portugal. This company was transferred to the Central Fund for The Social Activities of the Electrical and Gas Industries (CCAS) on December <Broken link removed> <Broken link removed> <Broken link removed>.

His father was the founder of <Broken link removed> company (camping equipment) after the Second World War. André Trigano is also the brother of <Broken link removed> <Broken link removed>uncle of <Broken link removed> <Broken link removed>hotels) and father of journalist and political communications advisor <Broken link removed>.
