I have an airbag warning light on which I would like to clear before I send the ECU of to crashdata for checking , I have searched on the forum for OBD readers and have found two that people have used. One is the Autel AP 200 and another post mentioned Multiescan. Before I part with any money can anyone recommend a reasonable priced one that will work. I assume that one that has worked on a Fiat will do the job as well.

If you disconnect the battery for 15 mins,it should clear the warning light.but not the fault.

Thanks but I have tried that, have also disconnected and removed then replaced the ECB unit as well.

There were some obd readers in Aldi last week, around £13 to 16 as I recall.I have one off my son and it is ok and easy to use.

Mentions Fiat Ducatto and the airbag ECU is a Fiat one in my van
Well you could try the basics by downloading multiecuscan for free.
You will need an elm type obd adapter, possibly cable converters for air bag ecu.
If it shows promise you then pay for the activation code to use all the facilities.
But Peugeot doesnt get a mention on their supported vehicle list.

I'm sure you will have thought of this but when I bought my OBD reader I found out two things. Not all obd readers can reset all things so just check that it will reset codes for airbags and secondly I found that my van (Citroen Relay) would not allow me to read or reset all things even if the obd reader had the function to do so.

Looking at them on Amazon and trying to find one that actually removes codes, bit of a minefield.

Lots of code readers work well on engine faults but cannot read airbag, abs, automatic gearbox, steering stability and many other ecu modules so check carefully before buying something that appears to be Peugeot compatible

Probably end up taking to my regular local garage and get them to remove it.

I bought this 2 years ago when the van went into limp mode, it told me the same as the RAC man and that answer had various sub plots.

I can heartily recommend the iCarsoft reader. Available of fleabay, so the number below isn't for the actual one, but it'll tell you what your looking for, its a superb bit of kit.
