Note to self ......

Beenn there done similar, in my case it was a silicone (i thought) spatula which landed on the burner and melted over it, it was in the early days of an 8 week trip, I was not popular but managed to get most of it off continued to use till we got home, then burner removed melted stuff came off easily, we had a scrwdriver in the van and that could have been done while we were away. oops Have st fire to a tea towel though when I left it too close to the hob. Just opened the door and chucked it out. glad we didn't have the awning up.

Yes we have done the same - hubby was about to let the fire extinguisher off! But managed to chuck the offending anti rattle mat out of the MH door! Wont make that mistake again! Shouldnt drink alcohol and cook!

Anti rattle devices? Rattles my pet hate. Any pics please?

mainly teatowels, but bubblewrap and the anti slip matting are also good alternatives
Got the anti slip stuff that sticks to ones plate or glass so you drag it out then drop the sticky stuff on the floor:madder:. Bubblewrap is a new one, must try. Teatowels, obvious but not used.

Yep.. burning the non slip rubber matting smells delicious...tried it once

Always remove anti-rattle devices before lighting the oven! No damage except for a charred tea-towel
Also , remove the plastic grill insert from your ridge monkey before cooking beefburgers…carnage
