Just been outside for a while. It's fresh! There are blackbirds singing in every direction, call and reply, call and reply... such a lovely liquid sound in which to be immersed

It's a lovely time of year especially after a long hard winter. Love seeing the birds going about their business 😎👍

We've seen the first of the raptor migrations this week.
(Only the odd few from our flat whereas others have witnessed "hundreds".)

Sorry to butt into this thread but didn't want to start a new one.

We seem to only have resident raptors. No more than one or two pairs of each, but we can see a great variety from the house: common buzzard, kestrel, sparrowhawk, barn/ tawny/ long-eared/ short-eared owls, hen harrier, golden eagle and sea eagle. I'm not too good on the owls. The golden eagle is probably the least commonly seen of them all, but WTE have breeding grounds nearby. The others are fairly commonly seen. Of course they'll be more visible once the lambing starts - horrible mixed feelings about that!

I wake up every morning to the sounds of wrens, robins, blackbird, blue and great tits, goldfinches. All coordinated and outsung by the dulcet squawk of a Carrion Crow😄
