It normally means that a thread has descended into arguments or bickering, so it's closed while I find time to sort it out

It simply means yet again folks forget rule No1. Debate the subject not the person.
Minxy Girl I think one can post inflammatory comments, if we all have the same opinion it would be a very poor do, the difference is to respect that each has the right to their opinions.
With my friends we enjoy a good exchange of views/debates/arguements and a few ales, put the world to rights.

There are inflammatory comments and INFLAMMATORY comments, when someone consistently posts snippets etc which are obviously meant to rile/upset and not in any way be part of a discussion, as happened on the thread in question, then that is something that IMV is not being done as part of their opinion which they have a right to. I wouldn't purposely look to upset anyone for the sake of it.
