I know there are some technical and very smart people on here, so thought I would ask for some assistance.

Mother in laws dishwasher has stopped working. It’s hardly used, but is a few years old. Investigation soon should me a problem. But the part is not available any longer.

What can I replace it with?

Thanks for your help.

Any of the compatibles shown on here any good?

Thanks for your reply.
To answer your question, I don’t know. I don’t “get” electronics, so I’m unsure what it does, or what it can be replaced by. Just a shame to throw a good machine away for a small part.

Can I just find the same power (if that is the correct term) capacitor, and solder it in place?

I don't think it is essential so you could try and simply bypass it. :) But if you can wire it in a different model of suppressor should do the trick. One of these for example. http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/candy-capacitors?p=1

Edit: You would probably need to take it apart to see how it is made up. From the label there are probably two capacitors wired in series between live and neutral with the centre point earthed. The label mentions another capacitor but where that goes I'm not sure. :)

But you could just connect the live in to the live out and so on, just bypassing the whole thing. The worst which might happen is there is interference on her TV when it is running. If that happens you could then look at wiring in a new suppressor. :)

As DBK says its not needed to run the machine but without it you MIGHT get some radio interference when the machine is running..... Buzzing/whineing on audio equipment and picture interference on TV.
I would try without it.
Connect the brown, blue and green/yellow wires to the corresponding wires in the mains lead using suitable connectors.

Seems to be available on Amazon but not cheap....

Amazon product ASIN B000U1M57A

That is the only supplier who “apparently“ has it in stock. So I bought it, they took money, I’ve now waited three weeks, and been told today that they don’t actually have it. So now need alternative and to get my money back ???

Yes, found original part for under £6, but no stock. The £48 was only supplier that had stock, but he lies, Adria doesn’t have it.

Darn, that's a pain but Amazon should sort you out, hopefully.

I've found it elsewhere - er, it's Ebay Australia....:)

That'll be why they only have a 75% rating score.
They SAY they currently have two... One at £48 free postage
One at £38 plus £17.13 p&p.... From GERMANY :Eeek:

There is a lot profiteering on parts. We needed to replace a wheel from our GTech vacuum cleaner recently. A Google threw up umpteen suppliers on eBay all selling a single wheel for about £18. Looking further down the page I found a link to GTech's own website where I could buy a wheel for £7.99.

WOW.

Spoke to chap at ukwhitegood. Ever so helpful, but said I would need to email info and pics in. I did. Now just had reply. That’s less than half an hour, and on a Friday afternoon after 5pm.

His reply.

Hi Andy,

To save you going crazy looking for that, it's obsolete.

The real part number was 00600233 and that is now replaced using this one:

https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/12028411-mains-anti-interference-filter

Or the same thing at a third of the price here:

Regards

Kenneth Watt

What fantastic service.

£9.95
I hope he's fitting it for that

If he had told me to buy the one at £30, I would have done. Good on him for telling me to buy the cheaper one. Top bloke. ????

Yip, bought a part from them a year or two back and thought the same. Great guy \ company to deal with.

Sometimes they put the wrong picture on ebay. Send Him some pics of your Bosch part and confirm before buying.

Thanks

i have and, as per his email it’s a discontinued part, so he has advised a much cheaper alternative, and even instructions on how to connect the new style one to the machine.
