We are in northern Holland making our way east for the summer. Not being ones for planning too hard we are now looking for a sensible route to Lithuania.
We are In an old 4 ton hymer and know about toll boxes in Poland. We are happy to use motorways.
What is concerning us is the roads in Poland especially road 16 from Ostrada to Elk.( coming from Torun) although we really wanted to go via Gdansk. Are we better coming from Berlin Poznan Warsaw Bialystok which seems a horrible long way round.g

We cannot find much info on this except for one blog suggested a few years ago that road 16 was in an horrendous condition.

Any help on this would be gratefully received.

To answer my own question!
The 16 road was a joy. Easy ,quiet and the road surface was fine. Horror stories we have read on blogs about the state of roads did put us off a bit. Our Hymer being 26 yrs old we expected the worst. So far so good. Now at Suwalki near the Lithuanian border.
We have been in northern Poland two weeks and so far have seen one other UK motorhome in the middle of nowhere going the other way.

Sorry no one replied to your first post. Lithuania is a bit far from the stamping grounds of most of us on here. :)

Any photos? It would be nice to see what you have seen. A lot of history there I suspect.
