Tried to watch tv in van last night and had perfect picture but no sound, just a deep slow rhythmic click! Of course I haven’t got anything else with me to try the tv on another source but I suspect it is the satellite system - Oyster Cytrac DX. Is the very helpful chap from Oyster available via email does anyone know?
Gosh it is good though to be out at last, site here on south coast full up.

We get a similar issue when we have the firestick plugged in for some reason. Removing it solves our problem on an Avtex tv and oyster sat

Thank you. Well that might help as I tried my Roku tv streamer with the tv last week. But I unplugged it completely and it is only know we are away that I have used the tv again but on satellite. Does just unplugging the Firestick stop the problem or is there some sort of reset.

i just unplugged it, inc the usb lead, turned the tv off then on again, and it had sound

Understood - thanks. Unfortunately not working for me. I have now asked Avtex for advice.

If you're using a separate decoder check the lead to tv is firmly and squarely plugged in.

Funnily enough I had exactly the same problem yesterday with our satellite set-up (Snipe \ Manhattan SX \ Ferguson TV).
Excellent picture but bu**er all sound, nothing!:swear2:
As there was a firmware update for the Snipe that was done. No change.:swear2::swear2:
Up goes the Status TV aerial and TV input changed accordingly and both picture and sound. Mmmmmmmh.
Status TV aerial back down. TV input back to HDMI (the input for the Manhattan box) and same picture but still no sound!:swear2::swear2::swear2:
HDMI cable unplugged and re-plugged in. Nope!:swear2::swear2::swear2::swear2:
Different HDMI cable tried. Nope!:swear2::swear2::swear2::swear2::swear2:
OK, sod the Andy Murray tennis programme, channel up button. Nope!:swear2::swear2::swear2::swear2::swear2::swear2:
But we have progress!:clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2:
It says, wait for it.......................................

"Mute" in the top left hand corner of the picture!:doh:
Channel down button and this is hidden by the score in the match!:doh::doh:
Apparently, the Manhattan box has a mute function as well as the TV!

have you checked the connection and possibly remade it ? i am referring to the lead to the tv from the sat dish?

Yes have tried all the leads. Have borrowed a dvd and discovered it is the tv not sat system. Avtex have told me how to do factory reset. Cannot carry it out though as batteries in remote handset have given up! It has had a lot of button pushing and they are original.

If you have a picture there is no fault with the dish or it's electronics. The problem is either the satellite tuner or the TV.

grumfy The way audio & video is sent together by the broadcasters, is the finding of Gellyneck possible?
Has that been checked?
Have you a working source? (Sorry if I missed you writing about that]
