I have booked to go to Beadnell bay CCC site for the jubilee four day weekend. Also booked a boat trip to Staple Island so i can get some photos of sea birds and seals. Anyone been to the site before whats it like

Beadnell is a lovely bay though one reads that there are now more holidaymakers than locals. Your trip to Staple Island sounds great.

Been many times to this site. Very well kept and close to the beach. A short walk to Seahouses along the beach. Two good pubs for food, drinks in the village. I prefer the Tower. I would recommend booking if you want to eat at either of them. We usually stay two nights and book one of the pubs for each night. There used to be a hut on site that did great breakfasts and food in the evenings. He wasn’t there the last two years but hopefully will be back this year.
We’re going in June before carrying on North into Scotland.

When I read the thread title 'Next big trip booked' I was looking forward to something about Nordkapp, Morocco, Turkey, so I was a bit underwhelmed.
Not everyone is a globetrotter or seasoned forigner. When i left the valleys in the 70s most people had never been more than 10 miles from home other than to Cardiff airport and then to spain for fish n chips and watneys red barrel.
this is probably not as rife as then but still exists the further you get from London. Indiginous Northamtonians are simular and only holiday in UK but spend long weekends playing golf in Portugal.
PS ive never been to Cardiff airport or Spain.
Never flown other than for business. My last Bus trip was to Cern.

Beadnells nice, ive stayed at the site in seahouses,(which was very pricey) nice chip shop in seahouses ,and an olde worlde pub called the ship,a long walk up the coast to bamburgh castle, which is worth a visit, and you can get a boat over to farne islands to see puffins and seals.
the coastline is stunning, its a beautifull place to visit, inland theres alnwick castle.
take wet weather gear and have a lovely time.northumberland is beautifull.

Me too, 4 days, not worth getting the van out of the drive.
We are off next I wouldn't call it a big trip only 6½ weeks.
And some people have to work. And it is a big trip for me as I am ticking things off my to do list.

Thanks for your patronising comment. I will bear it in mind that ppl don't consider everyone sees things differently

I was not being patronising to you personally, but just wanted to put 'big trip' in context with people who have done some really adventurous trips so as not to demean their efforts.

But ok to demean mine. To me it is a big trip for many reasons

I’m pretty sure the likes of Ranulph Fiennes and his like think your, and my trips pretty pathetic. I doubt very much they would comment as such though.

Beadnell is a nice little village and the beaches are to die for. We stayed on a THS next door the CCC site so can't comment on the site it's self.
Bamburgh is worth a visit as others have said, Try the sausage from the butches there, very tasty, if a little pricey.
Seahouses, bit disappointing as were the F and C's there.

Your trip, you enjoy it.

Yes the fish and chips were a bit greasy,(but it was 10 years ago for me they might have changed)youll have to go a long way to beat the magpie cafe at whitby i think 🤗
