With some makers only accounting within MIRO for one 6kg Calor Light, I'm interested to know how big the gas locker is. Even though payload issues might restrict you from using it.

So your locker is big enough for [2 x 13kg] or [1x 13kg + 1x 6kg] [2x 6kg] etc etc . Can you let me know..

Thanks

Our last van was a 2010 Chausson Flash S2 and it only had room for a single gas bottle - we used a 6kg Calor lite at the time, but it would probably have accommodated a 11kg propane bottle at a pinch. It had diesel space heating, so not too much of an issue, other than not having a back-up bottle to switch to when it was empty.

Current pvc - 2016 Rapido V68 - accommodates 2 x 11kg bottles, although we have 1 x 11kg Gas-it refillable and one 6kg Calor as back-up.

2019 Globecar Summit 640, 2 x 13kg.

2016 Elddis Encore, 1x14kg and 1x11kg would take 2x14 but the entry is stepped so therefore loses a bit of height, hence the 11kg bottle (Alugas of course?)

On our 2014 Chausson Flash 10 we only have room for (never tired bigger tho) a 6kg Calor Lite. But we only need the gas when we are at festivals etc to run the fridge and the gas cooker. By careful management that one bottle will last probably 4 festivals. So for about £25 seems decent value to us.

Mind, we stuff so much other non-incendiary crap into the gas locker it would be counter productive for us to put a bigger bottle in.

Hymer Exsis-I 588 - 2018 MY - we could physically fit 2x14kg Alugas (currently have 1x 14kg Alugas & 1x 6kg Calor lite as backup)

Our 2009 Bessacar was big enough for 2 x 11kg Gaslow bottles, however the Thetford door on it wasn't wide enough to get em in so had to have 6kg ones. Our 2013 Pilote Reference holds the 2 larger ones no problem so we bought 2 larger ones off an advert on the forum and sold our smaller ones. It turned out the chap selling them had had the opposite prob when swapping his van but unfortunately he'd already bought the 6kg before offering the big ones for sale so it was all different transactions with different people.

I'd guess that measuring the gas locker or the door of it isn't a thing that immediately springs to mind for most people when looking to change their moho - but it should be on the shopping list!

2019 Chausson 530 Welcome Premium space for 1 x 11kg Gaslow refillable, but we have Webaso diesel heating so more than adequate.

Just spent 8 weeks away and used just over 5 litres of LPG with hob and oven in use every day.

Our 2018 Bessacar 584 can easily take 2 X 13 kg calor lite bottles

2010 Burstner elegance i821 can take two x 13kg

Mines/ours.... has got two 13kg gaslow in it....plus my two roll up grip mats. So if the conditions are bad, I can use my mats if I get stuck, or have a bbq (y) ;)

Our 2010 Hobby Toskana has room for 2 11kg bottles, would definitely eat into skimpy payload!

2011 Rapido 10001, room for 2 x 11 or 13kg cylinders, currently using 2 X Gasit 6kg refillables.
Cheers

Chausson 620 welcome.. 2016..
Comes with a single gas locker advertised as been able to take one 13kg cylinder..as supplied that would have to be an exchange cylinder as as isn't equipped for refilling... (About as much use as a sore ass really..??)..
They must think you will always be close to an exchange point when you run out??
Weight saving is the reason quoted..and when asked about the logistics of running out they tell you to carry a spare cylinder in the garage...

Rant over?
Andy.

2017 Hymer B678 DL

It's too big would rather have it smaller with a bigger wardrobe on the the other side like our Exsis had. It's big so they can fit the option slide out runners with a door in the side of the van.

2x 14kg and loads of junk stored in it.
