Hi we are about to purchase our first motor home and could do with some advice about WiFi!
Our dealer is recommending installing motor home WiFi (not sure of the manufacturer) with an unlimited data sim. Our question is why can’t we use our unlimited data mobile phones as hotspots to access the internet/smart TV for subscription services? does the inbuilt systems give better coverage and Boosting of site WiFi etc? Any advice welcome!

An external aerial will normally give you a better signal.

However, no reason at all you can’t use your phones.

Thanks that what I thought. Not convinced the £399 being quoted is worth the extra investment

I went for it, purely because I wanted a signal in an area where reception was poor.

I can’t recall the aerial ever getting a signal where the phone couldn’t though so I would tend to agree. 😂

Stick with your phone to start with, don't buy loads of stuff you don't need. I run everything tethering from my phone.
