I'm collecting my first Motorhome , (Burstner Nexxo T620G on a Ford Transit Chassi, '09 Plate), What would be a 'ball-park' mpg?Is it best to drive with at least some water in the tank or wait to arrive on a Site? Any help, much appreciated.

I'm a tank 1/2 full when going to sites, if off grid it is full.

Hi from Totton, mine's a 2004 Boxer based Autocruise - around 34mpg. For peace of mind I put it on a weighbridge with the water tank full, me, her, 3/4 of a tank of diesel and gubbins for a week away to find I still had 200kg to play with. Cost me £12. So I run with around half a tank if we're away on sites for a few days but use water bottles for day trips.

Daftest thing I've done to date is use an ordinary garden hose to fill up. Water tasted bloody awful and it took some Puriclean and about 6 flushes to shift it.

PS - cheapest diesel around here is either Tesco at Millbrook or the garage on Queensway in town.

Odd, I get an average of about 35mpg out of my 2010 3200kg Boxer van (Not a Motorhome) when empty, my 2004 2.8JTd Burstner motorhome weighing 3400kg more like 25mpg
