Morning all.
I'm not new on here but I am new to full time motorhoming & I'm not doing things by half. Does anyone have any recommendations for van insurance if I'm living in it full time please ? Or is there anything I should be aware of regarding insurance.
Thanks in advance
Coral

Comfort do full time motorhome insurance. Not sure anyone else does TRUE full timing insurance. Most require you to have an address for at least 9 months of the year.

Hi Coral, we are full timers too 😁, so good luck and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

We had issues locating insurance owing to the value of the van. If over £100k, AIB & NFU would not insure. Comfort and Adrian Flux would. Having reviewed both policies, Comfort came out 'cheapest' (used in the lightest of terms) as, with Adrian Flux, you have a basic policy and then need to add on aspects that you want insured.

Comfort have been easy to deal with regarding Green cards etc, but as I say, full timing insurance is not cheap

Hope this helps! If so, and you have any further questions, just ask and I will try to help

Thankyou, yes the cost is not something I am looking forward to but am looking forward to the adventure of Motorhoming fulltime, all be it restricted because of work.
Many thanks.

Very interested in this thread as we're hoping to do the same soon. We'll keep an address with family in the UK but will be living and travelling in our van. Good luck, Squeak

Another vote for AIB from us 👍
Comfort didn’t want to know but …. that was a couple of years ago so maybe things have changed with them regarding cover for full timers??

Okay everyone. I've got insurance with Comfort, they ended up being about £400 cheaper than anyone else. To live in van full time, parked on a campsite, unlimited mileage, covered for windscreen, breakdown here & abroad with AA & content insurance (no electrical ie computer or a pushbike) has cost me just over £1000.00 :oops::oops: but at least it's all sorted.
Thankyou everyone that took the time to give me their opinions, greatly appreciated.

I hope I'm not hijacking this thread...
I've sold my house and am traveling around in van...I'm traveling around UK and then hope to go to Europe. I have directed my mail to my sister's house and can stay anytime, I also have friends who will put me up.
I'm planning on returning to UK early December and then go to Europe again in February...back again may/June...then off again in September till early December..
I don't consider myself full time because I am looking for a property but not very hard 😃
Am I a full timer ?

Should I open a new topic ?
From what I've been told by various insurers so far, if you're in your van for over nine months continuously, you're considered a full-timer.
