Knocked this up for the wife.... She won't know until Christmas!

It used to be a bit of plywood I had lying around and beech skirting board.

My wife would be so chuffed if I gave her something like that.

She would also be suspicious because I am hopeless at all that sort of stuff.

I wouldn’t think that the ply will withstand a lot of chopping especially edge on? It looks very nice though.?

It is indeed ply edge on. Hardened up with tung oil which is food safe. Probably end up as a serving or cheese board.
I thought you'd said chess board then, I was thinking it would be extremely difficult to work out which was which square! :giggle:

Very nice, But if I gave that to my wife for Xmas I think A&E would have a major removal job on their hands Xmas Day :xrofl:
