Morning all,
Need some help. I think but not sure that I've spiked the Dometic fridge while testing for a positive to fit some fans. The front panel will not light up and also the oven above the fridge will not spark.
On the back of the fridge the control module Dometic 289 0241 20,
Has 230v mains power when connected.
On the 12volt connections, There's 14+Volts on the large red wire + 12 VDC with engine running.
On the smaller wires, PS 12 VDC connection there's a constant 12v.
On the D+ there's 12v with engine running.
I don't have power at the S+ or + although I did originally have something at +.
I've looked everywhere for a fuse in hope but do you think I've fried something in the module.
The motorhome is a Carthago S-plus. Wiring will be the same as the E line etc.

The meter when set on voltage can't hurt anything as it has a very high resistance between the probes. Do you think you could have shorted 2 contacts with a meter probe? 🤔

Normally a 2amp fuse that is inline with a permantly live 12v to the fridge. I suspect this is OK as I don't think the control panel will light up without it. Also it feeds the oven light & ignitor.
If the fridge panel is lit & oven light & ignitor working the black module on the back of the fridge that controls the switching & ignition has probably failed.

Thanks for supper fast replies.
I'm thinking that's what might have happened Richard.
Lenny, the front panel will not light up at all and the ignitor will not spark forgot the light, I'll take a look.
Gone through all fuses that I could find.

That may be good news, probably just the fuse, unfortunately, I don't know where Carthago put in. On my Hymer the 2 amp fuse is in a separate small fuse block separate to the main distribution unit. Not a lot of help just pointing out it may not be inthe distribution unit with the other fuses.
Friends Compact Line has a small grey box beneath the main fuse box inside there are a few fuses I think one of them might be the one you are looking for.

The manual said there was a 30amp fuse under the seat unit behind the drivers seat but nothing there. Yes mine has the extra mini fuse holder below the main one, but all look good.
Do you think although I have 12v at the PS in + that I could still have a blown 2amp fuse somewhere or is that just wish full thinking? or could that + from the 2amp fuse come down from the oven then to the module.

I think the oven feed goes via the module.
Does your module have a label on it saying "Polyfuse" the ones without that label are very sensitive and prone to failure.
I took my 2 amp fuse out a couple of times when fitting my fans and got away with it.
When checking fuses always best to do it with a meter, they often look OK but are blown.

Yes oven does go out from module. No doesn't say Polyfuse. Just tested all the small fuses no joy. I'm now going to have another look at the dashboard end where there's more spaghetti ;)
