I have to drop something off to a place in Aldrington, Hove in a week or so. It's only permit parking around there so am looking for somewhere to park up for an hour in our 7m motorhome. I've so far only identified the car park for Pets at Home/TKMax which is about a 20 minute walk away. Does anyone have any local knowledge of that area. I need to get to BN3 5DP. Sainsburys looks a good bet but is 30 odd minutes walk away. Ok normally but I shall be carry the rear wing of a car and 5 litres of paint (don't ask!)

I don’t know the area , but looking at google maps there seem to be lots of shops there. They must have deliveries and vans will be similar size to your MH👍

looks to be roadside parking , arrive in plenty of time and with a drive past to check I reckon you will be OK

avoid retail parks, far too small and some I understand monitor where you go once parked 😳

BN3 5DP

Fairly certain Portland road is pay & display but it's a very busy area chance of finding a space is pretty slim.
Goldstone retail park is a 15 min walk. 50.83792,-0.17390
Another option is Kingsway (the seafront) only 10 min walk.

Could you take someone with you, they could take the items into the shop whilst you double park with your hazards on like any other delivery van 😉

Is Kingsway height barriered?

Not knowing the exact location your going, but a road I just checked off of the main road is resident parking but with times, so turn up before 10 or after 11 the times were on the signs, these may of course of changed, a little bit of checking on council site would probably tell you.

No, it's the main seafront Dual carriageway.

I have just checked the postcode, part of it is in parking zone r, no parking in bays. But very close to parking zone w which allows parking except between 10 and 11 and 7 and 8.

OK will check that out. All very confusing for a country boy!

I found King Alfred car park which is on the main road. It has a 2m height restriction according to the Brighton and Hove websitye.

If you look at Lenny's picture you will see that there is huge amounts of parking on the road both sides.
I've never not found a space to park. -Pay at meter .

Plenty of parking on the road.
Ah. You mean the main dual carriageway. Sorry I misunderstood. Yes I see parking bays on Google. Is it open parking there? Pay and display?

The car park that serves Pets at Home has just been resurfaced because a new Branch of Lidl has taken over a closed branch of Toys R Us on that estate The store opened yesterday and I fear the car park is likely to be rammed.

as Lenny says if you can get in on the front that is you best bet but it is a fair way away - certainly to walk with a car wing. There are several commercial units such as Toolstation off Portland Road but you would probably need to arrive early doors or late afternoon.

I think it's pay and display now they keep extending the zone. Whatever you do make sure you park legally Brighton & Hove traffic wardens are real little Hitlers they work 24/7 365 days a year.

Looks like if I can get on the front near to Hove bowling club then its a 15 minute walk. If I leave the the van on the prom the wife can help me carry the bits. Thanks for the help peeps.

It looks like the parking bays on the front aren't sectioned into individual bays so won't run foul of the "you're in two bays mate so two tickets". Thanks for the advice.

You'll also find MH's along there using ramps to level up on the kerb side as the slope is pronounced.

Talking about the real FLT they are a bit further west of there where there are no parking restrictions, old caravans and all sorts of crap.
