The campaign for Real Aires have posted on f/b that the National Trust have recognised the opportunity and are going to work to make stopovers happen.
They are looking to make more places available for motor homes to overnight.
Lets keep our fingers crossed that it happens.

Great news . I expect you will have to be a member of the NT and register to stay ( like booking in in Covid times) so hoping this will stop some of the anti social behaviour 🤞🏻🤞🏻

This is excellent news if so. I posted a thread with exactly this idea only a few weeks ago, and joined CAMPRA as it seemed a good place to spread the notion . Delighted the NT appear to be listening and that we’ll all be able to benefit next year.

There is one CL at NT Stourhead (closed when I last checked) so more CLs within their existing NT car parks is what we might expect. I don't see what MHers consider to be Aires as being compliant with England's planning laws. The law would have to change. Unlikely to be a priority for HMG whose policy in this general area is mainly to provide incentives to increase residential development. More halting sites for Travellers is the only other current policy aim I am aware of.

Meanwhile I would advocate the NT giving its local managers discretion to allow MHers to stay overnight in the existing NT car parks on an informal basis, on request. Whether that is lawful? - I don't know the answer.
